Date: Monday, 31 August
Venue: Botanical Garden, Shah Alam
The beautiful, enthralling flora of the Botanical Garden was the fitting backdrop for the grand finale of the much awaited, and absorbing DSA Cup games for the year. The last round of a 3 part series of team-building, fun and games activity, the finale had a barbecue to finish as well. The 30 plus team members assembled at the venue pretty early, with the games set to start at 9am.
After a brief up session with music to pep everyone up, the finale was underway. The first game was called Dragon Tag, where teams become dragons and try to catch other dragons tag and smash up their ‘eggs’. The 3 Level Obstacle course followed next which had obstacles like limbo ropes, carrying water on your head and filling tiny bottles etc. After that came the game of strategy and teamwork, where each team had to build towers using satay sticks and a balls of sticky glue like clay. The winner was of course the team that built the tallest tower. The last game, the most exciting one of the lot was kickball, which bore some resemblance to baseball, with 4 bases, and runners stealing bases, but with the addition of mats wet with soap water to help with the sliding.
As the teams spurred on by the cheering, fought each other, finally, the Yellow team finally emerged winners of the DSA Cup 2015, totaling up the points through the whole series which had Futsal and Dodgeball in the earlier rounds. The whole of the morning went by with the activities and it was time for the barbecue where ‘culinary specialists’ slowly roasted tasty meat, corn and marshmallows to perfection. It was a fitting finale for a good year of activity and break from the norm for all the young and active instructors and admin staff at DSA.
We look forward to the next activity for the year and also DSA Cup 2016. Go Teams Yellow, Red, Blue and Pink!
